A. Everest Base Camp/ Kalapathar (5545m.) Trek grading: Difficult

The Everest Trek through the Solu, Khumbu and Gokyo regions follows the path of the mediaval trans-Himalayan trade route established by the Sherpas.

From Jiri to Namche and Everest Base Camp, the 175 kilometre, 24 day Everest Trek passes through the some of the most magnificent mountain scenery on earth. The view of Mount Everest from Tengboche Monastery is without equal. Higher up the Khumbu Valley there is a awesome close up view of Mount Everest from the summit of Kalla Pattar, a hill within reach of most trekkers. The Khumbu Glacier Icefall provides an impressive mystery for, by a trick of the light, the ice seems to spring from the head of the Khumbu valley.

From Kalla Pattar one can see Everest Base Camp, which during May and October is a hive of activity with commercial mountaineering expeditions using Sherpa guides to get their clients to the summit of Mount Everest. Everyone, clients, guides, Sherpas and trekkers alike all use the Everest Trek to reach Everest Base Camp.

The cultural quality of the area rests on its intimate connection with Tibetan Nyingma Pa Buddhism. Many famous Buddhist saints lived in the area and their legends live on. Lama Sange Dorje was born at Mong La on the Everest Trek and was the first to live at the site of Tengboche Monastery. Everest is known to the Sherpas and Tibetans as Chomolungma or 'goddess mother of the unniverse'.

The environment of the Everest Trek was protected historically by its Buddhist inhabitants, and nowadays by the Sagarmatha National Park. Today you can still see the strange musk deer, the impeyan pheasant and many more native species protected by the park.

This trek is for the Everest fanatics who just want to feel the mighty Everest. So it is developed for people with less time who nevertheless require an experience of the culture in the region and would also appreciate at least a short time to view Mt. Everest and other peaks in the Khumbu region up close.

We fly to Lukla and trek up to Namche Bazaar and traced back to Lukla to fly to Kathmandu.

 

Itinerary of Everest Region:  Namche - Thyangboche Trekking Day 01 Transfer to the airport and fly Kathmandu/Lukla (2,830m). Trek to Phakding (2,650m) 4 hrs. walk. The Everest Base Camp trekking course is most representative of the Nepal Himalaya; it follows the main route through the Khumbu region from the Sherpa town of Namche Bazar, allowing the trekker to view close at hand some of the world’s highest and most famous peaks from Everest on down. The course is varied-you encounter Lamas and see Gompas (monasteries), Chorten (Stupas), and Mani stone (Pryer walls).

NB: Local Sherpa market can be observe every Saturday until 11AM. Everest Trek Day 03 Rest day at Namche for the acclimatization. Day 04 Namche to Tengboche (3867m.) Day 05 Tengboche to Pheriche Day 06 Pheriche to Lobuche (4930m.)  Day 07 Lobuche to Kalapathar via Gorakshep and overnight at Gorakshep. Day 08 Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp and for the overnight at Lobuche. Day 09 Lobuche to Pangbuche (3958m.) Day 10 Pangboche to Sanasa (3550m.) B. Trek to Everest base camp and Gokyo

Day 01 Kathmandu to Lukla By fly and trek to Phakding Day 02 Phakding to Namche Day 03 Namche rest for acclimatization and look around Syangboche. Day 04 Namche to Tengboche(we can see the buddhist monastery) Day 05 Tengboche to Dingboche Day 06 Dingboche rest for acclimatization . Day 07 Dingboche to Lobuche Day 08 Lobuche to Kalapattar(5545m) from where we can see the Mt. Everest very near and clearly then back to Lobuche and camp. Day 09 Lobuche to Zongla Day 10 Zonggla to Thangna Day 11 Thangna to Gokyo Lake which is very nice lake on the such a like this high(4750m) place. Day 12 Gokyo lake to Gokyo peak and climb down to Gokyo lake. Day 13 Gokyo Lake to Dole Day 14 Dole to Namche Day 15 Namche to Phakding to Lukla Day 16 Lukla to Kathmandu by fly.
