Mt. Makalu Expedition (8463m/27765ft)
2009 Spring
Mt. Makalu (8463 m) is the fifth highest
peak in the world. Makalu lies in the
Mahalangur Himalayan Range of Nepal and
it is considered as one of the best
mountain to climb. The first attempt to
Makalu was approached by the American
expedition team in 1954 but was unable
to reach the summit. Following year in
the spring, 3 members of the French
expedition team successfully summitted
and became the first to stand on top of
Makalu.
We have just started to run expedition
to Makalu, which has been remarkably
successful. So, we have now decided to
run regular expedition to Makalu in the
spring season every year for those
mountaineers who are interested in
climbing this spectacular mountain.
The Key features of our Makalu
Expedition:
1. Qualified and experienced staffs:
Those staffs that we engage for our
Makalu Expedition is well trained and
experienced in their respective jobs.
They all are very experienced,
hospitable and knows how to keep the
climbers healthy and happy.
2. Acclimatization trip:
Our itinerary on the approach to Base
Camp is easy. This is a very beautiful
trek where you can not only enjoy the
views but also explore the local
cultures and traditions. Besides that
you will be well acclimatized for
climbing Makalu. Acclimatization always
plays a vital role in making an
expedition successful in the Himalayas.
3. Selected climbers:
We only take selected number of climbers
for our Expedition in Makalu or any
other big mountains. There are some
basic criteria on how you can join our
Manaslu Expedition:
a. You must be experienced in high
altitude climbing and have climbed at
least two 6000 m peaks
b. You must be physically and
psychologically fit for climbing 8000 m
peak
c. You must be ready for being in the
mountain for two months.
Our Experience:
For many years, we have been organizing
trekking and mountaineering in Nepal. We
have just started to organize Makalu
expedition. We recently organized the
Hungarian Makalu Expedtion 2008, which
had 3 climbing members and 1 base camp
manager. We also have put the cybercast
updates for that expedition in our cyber
cast page. It was a very successful
expedition and all the members of this
expedition were very happy with our
organization.
